For Budget 2026, the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation is calling for:
- An increase in the primary capitation grant by €75 per pupil.
- A reduction in the average class sizes by two pupils.
- An expansion of the Small Schools Pilot Project to support rural school communities.
- And, the introduction of Special Education Needs Coordinators to improve provision and planning for the primary education of children with additional needs.
