For Budget 2026, the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation is calling for:

  • An increase in the primary capitation grant by €75 per pupil.
  • A reduction in the average class sizes by two pupils.
  • An expansion of the Small Schools Pilot Project to support rural school communities.
  • And, the introduction of Special Education Needs Coordinators to improve provision and planning for the primary education of children with additional needs.

Send an email to your local TDs telling them it's time for our Government to show it is serious about its commitment to supporting primary and special education.
